Answer To Spiritual Question 6
What is Temporary Faith?
Okay, let's see if I can explain to you in simple terms, what "temporary" faith is.
Suppose you are in a car accident and are seriously injured, and you
don't know if you are going to make it.
You pray to God at that moment, that
He gets you out of there, and that you will survive.
They get you out, you're
in the hospital for a couple of weeks with a broken this or that,
and then
you get out of the hospital and then start your daily routine again.
You
forget that it was your faith in God that got you out, and you continue
your
daily life in forgetfulness of the great thing God did for you till you need Him
again.
Here's another example:
The end of the month is coming
up and you don't have enough money to pay the rent.
You pray and ask God to
somehow help you come up with the rent. Then by some miracle,
the money comes
in and you pay the rent. Then afterwards you don't really think about God
till your next desperate need comes up.
Temporary faith is when you believe
in Him for finances or needs etc.
and then after your needs are met you stop
believing.
